Just Another Monday

As we sit here holding desperately to our coffee mug and thinking, why are Mondays so rough, we thought you might be wondering the same thing, so here are few reasons Mondays can feel especially challenging:

  1. Transition from weekend to workweek: After having a relaxed schedule or time off during the weekend, transitioning back to the structure and demands of the workweek can be tough. On the flip side, your weekends may be so busy you come into Monday exhausted.
  2. Sleep cycle disruption: Over the weekend, people often change their sleep patterns by staying up later and waking up later than on weekdays. This can disrupt the body’s internal clock, making it harder to wake up early on Monday. We are so guilty of this, it is just so nice not having to wake up on a school schedule on the weekend.
  3. Mental load and anticipation: Mondays often involve planning and preparing for the upcoming week’s tasks and responsibilities, which can be mentally overwhelming.
  4. Social contrast: The weekend often provides more opportunities for social interaction and leisure activities that are enjoyable. The contrast between the freedom of the weekend and the structured nature of the workweek can make Mondays seem particularly unappealing.

So cheers to a productive and supportive week ahead (raises precious coffee cup)
